Spiritual Practices for Daily Life

To find a deeper connection between mind, body and soul, daily spiritual practice is very essential. It will reduce stress. Doing daily meditation, deep breathing exercise, gratitude practice and reading spiritual texts. These tasks help you in emotional well being, there will be reduce in stress and you will be developing spiritually.

Daily Spiritual Practices:

  • Meditation & Prayer: Daily give your time to meditation, give yourself 20 to 30 minutes for mindfulness meditation by sitting quietly, by focusing on breath or connecting to higher power to start or end the day.
  • Gratitude: Take a notebook and write all the things that you grateful for. This helps you in acceptance of who you are and slowly you will stop complaining.
  • Mindful Actions: Always bring your attention to the daily activities, and practice these consistently like walking, exercising, eating, to stay at the present moment.
  • Spiritual Reading: Make it a habit of reading spiritual books daily or recite mantras or read a spiritual literature which helps you stay positive and it helps you feel fresh every day.
  • Setting Intentions: To grow spiritually set your clear intention what practices you have to do the reach your goal which helps in emotional, mental and physical well-being.
  • Nature & Silence: Always spend time with nature, go out of your house and walk through a garden bare foot and breathe fresh air which helps you connecting with your inner self. Practice sitting in silence with any distractions which helps you in transform internally.
  • Service and Kindness: This is one of the most important aspects of connecting to spirituality. We have to selfless service(seva) and show kindness and give love and compassion to each and everyone.
  • Physical Movement: Practicing yoga and combining with physical movements tend to make your body lighter and also improves the inflow oxygen to your brain which helps you to grow spiritually.

Tips for Consistency:

  • Create a Sacred Space:  Fix a room in your where you can sit quietly for meditation and see that there will be no disturbance.
  • Start Small: Start daily with few minutes, don’t skip consistency is important, because quality is more important than quantity.
  • Unplugging: To increase your focus schedule time to use your phone. By doing this external distraction will be reduced.
  • Journaling: At the end of the day write whatever has happened during day and make the plan, so that you want to improve. End of the day self-growth is important.
The Routine you can follow for Entire Day:
A. Morning:

Set the area, take a quite pause, sit, breathe and be still.

  • Next is Intention: ask yourself What should I do today? How to show up? (Attributes like kindness, courage, patience, trust etc.)
  • Next is Connection: Pray, recite mantras, recite affirmation or ask Universe to guide you.
B. During the Day:

These can be called as tiny practices. Take one small breathe, before meetings, meals or any other work. Be present at every moment while walking, or while doing dishes or while driving. Be aware of the work you are doing.

C. Night:

Close the deal or loop. Reflect on the actions what you have done today What helped me today? Where I got disconnected? Answer these and give gratitude to the small things that has happened during the day. Release what ever the things that you can’t control.

Write all the unwanted thoughts and burn the paper before going to bed.
