Origin of English Language and Types of Accent
Introduction

English Origin and Types of Accent:
English is a West Germanic language first spoken in medieval England. Before 5 th century in England there were three Germanic peoples. Jute’s, Saxons and Angles. Angles tribes were bit powerful. Due to Angles influence Britain is called England and language became ENGLISH.
At 1000 A.D. Britain was called Angla-Land and language was called Angla –Is. As years passed by the Britain was called England and language was called English.

- American(US)
- British(UK) (10 dialects)
- Australian etc.
- Indian English
- Irish English and so on…
Why we must learn English:
- English is a language of international communication.
- English is vastly used in Media, Internet etc.
- In Speaking English language helps in getting Jobs around the globe.
- Almost 20% around the world speak English. Only 10 to 12 % in Indian speak English.
- Most of the world documents are communicated in English.
