Relation with Mirror – Part 1
Mirror is one the tool that helps you in transform yourself to be successful like you have never imagined before. Mirror work helps you to look yourself deep into the eyes and saying mantras or affirmation which is the most effective method which helps you love yourself. Looking at yourself directly eye contact is also one of the methods to train your subconscious mind. All the negative emotions or baggage’s that you carried from childhood gets eliminated as you practice mirror work which I will be discussing below. It also gives you tremendous self confidence and self-esteem and gives you inner peace and inner joy. Mirror work also makes you to be aware of the situation that you are in and helps you transform quickly.
Stand in front of the mirror and speaking to yourself is actually one the difficult task at first, but as you practice it, it will become easy. Doing this mirror work is actually fun and it is also one of the best gifts you can give it to yourself. The more you give complement to yourself in front of the mirror in difficult times the more you will enjoy the relationship with yourself.
Let’s break the old pattern by following the steps given below:
- Loving Yourself: As soon you wake up go straight to the bathroom and stand in front of the mirror and say this affirmation, “I Love You, I want to like you and let’s have some fun”. Take deep breath and say it again. This can be challenging and it may sound silly, but do it. Continue this whole day whenever you pass through mirror, say it silently. Before sleeping sit for few minutes in meditation and visualize that people you love are sitting around you, you wish them well. Feel the love circulating between you and them and see it getting multiplied. Love yourself, love one another and love each other.
- Make mirror your friend: As you have started loving yourself, each day you change the way you are thinking and it will help you in erasing old negative pattern that you have carried from long time. Soon you will be smiling and embracing your new you. Again, go in front of mirror take a deep breath and say “I LOVE YOU”. Repeat it for more than 100 times, again and again. When you find it difficult telling yourself that you love yourself, then it is the old pattern is your carrying. Don’t judge yourself, repeat affirmation again and again.
- Self-Talk: As each day passes you will fall in love with yourself a little bit more. I want you erase all negative memories of the past and live in the present. For this let us work on Self Talk- what you say to yourself inside your head. We often accept the messages from our parents, teachers and others like for example, Go clean your room, You are not fit to do that work and so on. We often do the work what other people say, in order to be loved. You get programmed to do what others say. If you are unhappy in life, you always blame others rather than taking blame to yourself. You can self-talk in front of the mirror by saying positive words about yourself and repeating it. “You are not doing anything right” statement should become ” I am capable person and I can handle anything that comes in my way”. Keep repeating it whatever you say, say it with love. Change negative statement to positive statement.
- Letting Go of Past: Now you have started loving yourself and you have started to reprogram all the old tapes you have been playing in your head. Since child every message that you have heard, read, said, experienced, all will be recorded and stored in our core, gut or solar plexus. We are filling our gut with negative statements like I am not good enough, I will never make it. It is difficult and so on. We are going to get rid of the old tapes by doing mirror work and send positive message to our gut. Use this affirmation “I am willing to let go”, “I release blame”, “I am ready to forgive”. Can you imagine how wonderful it is to let go of the past and create harmony for yourself by practicing daily. As you have started your daily mirror work. You are transforming.
- Building your self-esteem: You will be feeling better as you started mirror work. Love is a great cure for everything. Loving ourselves creates miracles in our lives. Let it be any problem loving yourself is the best way to solve everything. Loving yourself means having a great respect for everything about you, internally and externally. It is a deep gratitude for your body, mind and soul. Loving yourself is such a degree that it helps you to feel JOY being you. If you deny good,anyway it is an act of not loving yourself. Think when you were baby you were perfect in everything; they act as if they know everything. They are not afraid to ask what they want. They express their emotions freely. When babies are happy, everyone present in the room smiles. They are full of love. Even you were like that at one time, as you grew older you forgot it., and learned to be fearful and added so many unwanted emotions. Now let us remove all the negatives and criticism about you. Stand in front of the mirror. Look into your eyes say this affirmation “I love and approve myself”, keep saying it again and again and again. Say it 100 times, each time you pass the mirror and say it. The results are absolutely tremendous when you follow this. If any negative thought comes then don’t fight them, don’t judge them just focus on loving yourself and approving yourself. A few affirmation that helps you in all the situations, “I accept and use my own power”,” I am worthy of my own love”,” My self esteem is high because I honor who I am”,” Life supports me in every way possible”.
