Rewiring your thought pattern

Mind, Body and Emotions are mutually interconnected with each other and mutually influence one another. Our brain has neural structure which forms because of repetitions. Thoughts you put out (eg: Fear, Doubt, Fear, Worry,etc.) become automatic. Rewiring thought pattern means stopping those negative thought pattern into positive thought pattern by repeating new thoughts continuously to re wire until it becomes default. Thought emerge from electrochemical functioning of our brains, which are our organs and part of the physical body.
The simple basic process which you can use to rewire your thoughts is using the below formula
Notice → Question → Replace → Repeat
1. Notice the thought:
Thought comes naturally, catch hold of the thought without judging it.
- “I always mess things up.”
- “This will go wrong.”
When you are aware of the above statements, you tend to get weak as you judge it. Awareness weakens the pattern.
2. Question the thought:
Ask the following questions
- This thought Is 100% true?
- Is there any proof for this thought?
- Should I share this thought with someone I love?
These questions shift your emotional thinking to rational thinking. The way of thinking changes to practical way.
3. Replace it with a balanced thought:
Replace the old thought to new thought which are real thought and which are compassionate and fake positive thoughts.
Look at the following thought below
- Instead of saying: “I always fail”
- Say this: “I’ve failed before, but I’ve also succeeded, and I can improve.”
Balanced thought stick together and it gives you calmness.
4. Repeat consistently:
The main aspect to change your thought pattern is to Repeat it day in and day out. The brain changes through.
- Frequency (daily practice): By saying the statements daily rewires your thought pattern.
- Emotion (kindness works better than punishment): Be kind to yourself don’t rush, don’t think it as punishment, love what you do.
- Time (weeks, not days): Don’t worry about how many days or weeks or months required to rewire. Just practice it daily nonstop. You will get the results as time passes.
Practical techniques that work:
- Thought Writing: Writing is of the major factor to put the thoughts in paper. Write what triggers you, write the emotion and also write what emotion you want to replace.
- Pattern interrupt: Take a pause breathe deeply, name the thought (“this is anxiety talking”) not me and start your positive talk.
- Visualization: Relax and bring your imagination in a situation which makes you uncomfortable and responding to the situation calmly.
- Language shifts: replace “always / never” with “sometimes / lately”
- Behavioural proof: there will be old belief that you have developed since long, you have to act against the old belief pattern to create a new belief pattern.
Important Truths:
- There will be negative thoughts coming from your mind, you can’t stop them immediately but you have to change your relationship with it.
- When you’re in progress you feel exhausted, tired by the process before you feel powerful.
- Emotional safety (rest, nutrition) speeds rewiring, means the rest you give to your body and the intake of good nutritious food also impacts in long term.
- Self-compassion meaning treating yourself with kindness, understanding, and acceptance, especially during difficult times, personal failures, or suffering, much like you would a dear friend, rewires faster.
